The Book of Mormon Foundation Internship Code of Conduct
The mission of The Book of Mormon Foundation (BMF) is to testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ through the Book of Mormon. Interns are official representatives of BMF and have many opportunities to witness for Jesus Christ.
The validity of your testimony is measured by your demeanor, your behavior and conduct in person and on social media. It is a reflection of what is inside you. Your demeanor should be one that will help facilitate your testimony while representing the Foundation, not detract from it. Your demeanor should be one that enforces your desire to witness, to serve, and to learn.
Interns are a part of a team and are expected to work with all members of the team, interns and staff, in a respectful manner. The interns will have a number of opportunities to witness at reunions, camps, and branch worship services as well as to those many dedicated people who give their time and talents to teach and support the Internship. The interns are expected to show respect and courtesy at all times, to everyone they come in contact with on a daily basis. This includes being on time and prepared for every activity, every day.
First impressions are important in witnessing, so the Internship has the following dress code:
Men should have basic haircuts and be clean shaven with no facial hair. A basic haircut means hair off the ears and collar and bangs above the eyebrows. Slacks, dress shirts, and ties are appropriate apparel for the three days of classes each week. No earrings. If hair coloring is used, it must be natural shades.
Women may wear dresses or skirts/blouses for class days. Hem lines should be no shorter than the top of the knee. Close fitting garments and plunging necklines are not appropriate. Clothing should not reveal any undergarments or midriff. Not more than one pair of earrings should be worn. If hair coloring is used, it must be natural shades.
During the six-week program, interns are expected to give their best in all areas of their lives. We ask that interns avoid even “the appearance of evil” in their relationships and choices. Our daily lives should reflect the relationship we have with Jesus Christ.
Unwillingness to live by this code can result in being dropped from the program.

What

Established in 1992,  the Internship provides an environment for older youth to gain a greater understanding of The Book of Mormon, the central focus that Jesus Christ should have in their lives, and given an opportunity to develop leadership and witnessing skills.

How

The Internship is a rigorous six-week program which includes Book of Mormon related classes, worship, prayer and fasting, service, travel, and witnessing.

Add to this commitment, a dose of daily laughter and concern for one another and what develops is a lifelong bond of friendship.

Who

Graduates who have been out of high school for one year and between the ages of 19-24 may apply.   The internship requires acceptance through an application and interview process.
